In the 2014 animated film Justice League: War, Batman and Green Lantern are pursuing an alien through Gotham’s sewers when Hal Jordan begins showing off by flying behind Batman. Once Hal lands, Batman casually slips the ring from his finger, causing his green costume and powers to instantly vanish.
Hal only regains his abilities after summoning the ring back to his hand. This scene shows that a Green Lantern’s powers are entirely dependent on the ring.
