Flight Attendants Alarmed by Google's Acquisition of Spirit Airlines Employee Data

Google won an auction to acquire Spirit Airlines' employment and workplace records, which do not include personal or customer data. A court-appointed ombudsman will oversee the removal of personally identifying information before the data is transferred.

Google is required to keep the data de-identified and may never intentionally re-identify it, with third parties bound by the same terms if granted access. Flight attendants expressed alarm over the deal.
