Stanford Study: AI Impact Falls Heaviest on Entry-Level Workers

Newly updated research from Stanford University economists finds that artificial intelligence is contributing to significant job losses among younger entry-level workers, while older employees remain largely unaffected. The August 2026 edition of the study shows that employment for workers aged 22 to 25 in AI-exposed occupations is now 19 percent below that of peers in less exposed fields.

That gap has widened from 13 percent in the previous year's analysis. The findings indicate that the trend identified last year is persisting and expanding.
