Taiwan Indicts Nine, Including Nvidia Senior Manager, for Alleged AI Server Smuggling to China

Taiwan prosecutors have indicted nine people, including an Nvidia senior manager and two Supermicro employees, for allegedly forging documents to conceal illegal shipments of high-end AI servers to China. The Keelung prosecutors did not name the suspects but said they were charged with breach of trust and document forgery; one related suspect remains at large over alleged fund siphoning.

The case follows US export restrictions on advanced semiconductors to China and the March arrest of Supermicro co-founder Wally Liaw, accused of diverting $2.5 billion in restricted AI servers to China since 2024. Taiwan then launched a separate investigation into the scheme.
