Nearly 160,000 applicants took UNAM's entrance exam remotely this summer using AI webcam proctoring software. The results deviated sharply from historical trends, with scores of 100 or more jumping from 3.5 percent in previous years to 16.3 percent this year. Consequently, about 58,000 students will have to retake the exam.
