Nearly 160,000 applicants took UNAM's entrance exam remotely for the first time this summer, monitored by a lockdown browser and AI webcam proctoring software. The results were drastically different from previous years, with 16.3% scoring 100 or higher on the 120-question test, compared to the historical average of 3.5%. The anomalies were so severe that 58,000 students are required to retake the exam.
