Anthropic has paused a pricing change that would have increased costs for heavy users of its Claude Agent SDK. The company initially planned to treat usage of the SDK differently from standard Claude interface or CLI usage, charging it at different rates based on API fees.
However, they announced Monday that they were pausing this change to allow current users to continue accessing generous usage limits within their existing Claude subscriptions. This decision reverses a previously proposed change that would have impacted third-party apps built using the SDK as well.
