The United States has lifted export restrictions on Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 models, about three weeks after the Trump administration flagged them as national security risks. Anthropic confirmed Fable 5 is now available globally, while U.S.
organizations regained access to Mythos 5 on June 26. The company is collaborating with the government to extend Mythos access through the Glasswing program, which provides trusted cybersecurity researchers with defensive use of the model.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated in a letter that Anthropic no longer needs a license for exports or transfers of the models, acknowledging the company had addressed the government’s risk concerns.
