The U.S. has lifted export restrictions on Anthropic's newest Claude models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, about three weeks after the Trump administration flagged them as national security risks.
Fable 5 is now available worldwide, and U.S. organizations regained access to Mythos 5 on June 26. Anthropic is collaborating with the government to expand Mythos access to trusted cybersecurity researchers through the Glasswing program.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed that Anthropic no longer needs an export license, acknowledging the company's efforts to address the models' risks in coordination with the U.S. government.
