Apple Sues OpenAI Alleging Ex-Engineer Exploited Bug to Steal Trade Secrets

Apple has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, seeking injunctions to prevent misuse of confidential information allegedly stolen by former employees. The suit claims a 'rare' bug allowed a recently poached engineer, Chang Liu, to maintain access to Apple's sensitive servers for weeks after his termination.

Apple alleges OpenAI conspired with Liu and other ex-employees to unlawfully accelerate development of AI-powered devices. The bug was discovered during an investigation of internal messages between a current employee and Liu.
