Bernie Sanders Proposes $7 Trillion Plan for Public Ownership of AI Industry

Senator Bernie Sanders has introduced a plan to create a sovereign wealth fund funded by a 50 percent tax on the stock of the largest AI companies. Firms with annual AI sales of $200 million or more would be subject to the tax, which Sanders estimates could generate $7 trillion. The fund would pay each American an estimated $1,000 or more annually in dividends and support programs like healthcare, education, and housing.
