Bernie Sanders proposes $7 trillion plan to give Americans control of AI industry through public ownership

Bernie Sanders has introduced legislation to create a sovereign wealth fund financed by a one-time 50 percent tax on the stock of the largest AI companies, targeting firms with annual AI sales of $200 million or more. The fund, estimated to be worth $7 trillion, would generate hundreds of billions of dollars annually for direct payments to Americans and programs such as health care, education, and housing. Under the plan, each American would likely receive more than $1,000 annually in 5 percent dividends.
