ByteDance is training a massive AI model that could rival Anthropic's most advanced Mythos system, signaling Chinese firms are closing the gap with leading US labs. According to three sources, the model may have up to 10 trillion parameters—three times larger than Moonshot's Kimi K3, the largest Chinese model released to date.
It is currently in pre-training, a phase that typically lasts three to six months, with fine-tuning and release possible if development proceeds smoothly. The final model size has not yet been determined.
