ChatGPT Now Declines to Mimic Specific Authorial Styles

OpenAI's ChatGPT has begun refusing requests to imitate the distinctive writing styles of well-known authors, instead generating original text that draws on broad thematic qualities. Ars Technica confirmed this behavior with a prompt modeled on Stephen King, for which the chatbot offered an original horror opening while explaining it could not copy his exact style. Similar responses were given for authors both living and dead, although an earlier No Latency analysis found ChatGPT previously complied with style-copying requests for deceased writers.
