Google is considering faster Chrome update cycles, potentially delivering patches twice a week, as AI-driven security tools uncover a record number of vulnerabilities. The recent Chrome 149 and 150 releases combined contained 1,072 bug fixes—more than the previous 23 releases combined—including a 13-year-old sandbox-bypass flaw. To counter the risk of attackers exploiting AI-discovered bugs, Google is piloting more frequent updates and exploring ways to roll them out without requiring a browser restart.
