Google says AI-powered security tools have sharply increased the number of vulnerabilities found in Chrome, with two recent milestone releases containing over 1,000 bug fixes—more than the previous 23 releases combined. One serious flaw had lurked in the codebase for 13 years and could have allowed attackers to escape the sandbox.
To counter the risk of AI-fueled attacks, Google is piloting updates as often as twice per week, building on its two-week cycle. The company also aims to roll out these updates with minimal disruption, potentially without requiring a restart.
