Chrome Eyes Faster, Restart-Free Updates as AI Uncovers More Flaws

Google is piloting Chrome updates twice a week to counter AI-driven security threats, building on the two-week cycle it announced earlier in 2026. The move follows a sharp rise in bug fixes: Chrome 149 and 150 together addressed 1,072 vulnerabilities—more than the previous 23 releases combined—including a 13-year-old sandbox bypass. Google also aims to roll out these updates without requiring a restart.
