EU Forces Google to Share Search Data and Open Android to Competing AI Under New DMA Rules

The European Commission has announced new measures under the Digital Markets Act (DMA) requiring Google to increase competition on Android and in search. Google must grant rival AI platforms equal system access on Android, ending Gemini’s preferential treatment. Google claims the changes undermine privacy and security, but as a DMA gatekeeper, it is legally obligated to comply.
