Flaw Found by Anthropic's Mythos Disqualifies HAWK From NIST Post-Quantum Competition

The HAWK digital signature algorithm, a contender for standardization by NIST as a post-quantum cryptographic scheme, has been withdrawn after a flaw was discovered using Anthropic's Mythos security model. The vulnerability was found during the third round of NIST's evaluation process, which was specifically designed to catch such weaknesses.

HAWK's developer announced the withdrawal after the findings were made public. The discovery effectively removes HAWK from consideration as an official US standard.
