Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that Gemini has reached 1 billion monthly active users, making it the fastest Google product to hit that milestone. While 13 other Google products have reached 1 billion users, none did so as quickly.
Gemini is now embedded across Gmail, Drive, and Google Search, but those integrations do not count toward the metric. The 1 billion figure specifically measures people who actively open the Gemini app or website to enter prompts or use Gemini Live at least once a month.
