Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that Gemini has surpassed 1 billion monthly active users, making it the fastest Google product to reach that milestone. While 13 other Google products have hit 1 billion users before, none did so as quickly.
Gemini is now deeply integrated across Google services like Gmail, Drive, and Search, but the new figure specifically counts people who actively open the Gemini app or website to enter a prompt or use Gemini Live. Even using it once in a month qualifies as being part of that user base.
