George R.R. Martin is writing new material for the upcoming Game of Thrones spin-off series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It has been six years since Martin last published a new book or novella, and fans have been losing hope for the completion of The Winds of Winter.
While this new work marks a return to writing, it is not the long-awaited next installment in the main series.
