Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer on October 15, 2026. Despite its name, this is not the launch of the game: the release remains scheduled for November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official video also brings a concrete music announcement, with Justice identified as the composers of the original score.
Justice are composing the score
The official trailer page introduces the track “Flower in a Hurricane”, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The important distinction is Justice's wider role: Rockstar credits the duo with the game's original score, rather than simply licensing a song for a promotional video.
Rockstar's music hub separately lists Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, with 34 original tracks and a November 19 release date. It also offers previews of in-game radio stations, including the pop-focused Flash FM and metal station The Chamber. The album, radio programming and original score are worth distinguishing when discussing the soundtrack.
Jason and Lucia's story is still the focus
The official synopsis centres on Jason and Lucia, whose unsuccessful criminal job draws them into a conspiracy across Leonida. Vice City is part of that setting. This is the established story premise, not a newly revealed mission description.
Rockstar's character profiles add useful context: Jason previously served in the army and later worked for drug runners in the Keys, while Lucia is rebuilding her life after prison. Their backgrounds help explain the setup without treating speculation about their relationship or choices as confirmed gameplay.
Release and preload are different dates
The current official pages continue to list PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The checked announcement does not provide a PC release date, so November 19 should not be presented as a simultaneous PC launch.
Some practical details predate this trailer. In its June 24 announcement, the publisher set digital preloading for November 12 and listed US prices of $79.99 for the game and $99.99 for Ultimate Edition. These are the publisher's announced dollar prices, not a quote for every region. Preloading is preparation for launch, not permission to start playing early.
A shorter follow-up to August’s extended look
The new trailer runs for 1 minute 29 seconds, according to Rockstar’s video catalogue. It follows An Extended Look, published on August 27. Rockstar identifies that earlier presentation as footage captured in-game on PS5. The two videos serve different purposes: the October release is a short trailer, while the August presentation provides a longer official look at the game.
