HAWK Withdrawn From NIST Contest After Mythos Model Uncovers Fatal Flaw

HAWK, a post-quantum digital signature algorithm being considered for US standardization, has been withdrawn after researchers found a critical flaw. Anthropic's security model, Mythos, helped expose the vulnerability, which rendered the scheme broken.

HAWK had previously passed two rounds of NIST's evaluation process but was eliminated during the third round. The developer confirmed the withdrawal after Anthropic published its findings.
