Hidden AirTag Ties Amazon to Destruction of Rare Books for AI Training

For over a year, booksellers suspected AI companies were buying rare books in bulk and destroying them after scanning. Now, 404 Media reports that a bookseller hid an AirTag in a rare book, which was tracked to an Amazon AI training facility in Las Vegas, where a team was tearing books from their spines and scanning pages.

The warehouse door reportedly featured a T-rex eating a book. Amazon declined to comment, offering a statement that did not mention AI training.
