Hidden AirTag Tracks Rare Books to Amazon AI Training Facility

A bookseller cooperating with 404 Media hid an AirTag inside a rare book from a bulk order, allowing the shipment to be tracked to an Amazon AI training facility in Las Vegas. There, a team was found tearing books from their spines and scanning pages, with a warehouse logo showing a Tyrannosaurus rex about to devour a book.

The discovery adds evidence to longstanding suspicions that AI companies are buying and destroying rare books for training data. Amazon declined to comment on the findings and provided a statement that did not specifically address AI training.
