HoYoverse’s Nodusfall Feels Less Like Elden Ring Meets Monster Hunter and More Like Final Fantasy 16

HoYoverse, the studio behind Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, is expanding beyond its familiar anime-inspired mobile style with the monster-slaying action game Nodusfall. It was unveiled during the 2026 Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase. While the game has been described as “Elden Ring meets Monster Hunter,” it apparently plays more like Final Fantasy 16 in practice.
