Lawsuit alleges man used xAI's Grok to generate 7,000 child sex images of stepdaughter before suicide

A proposed class action lawsuit accuses X and xAI of building harmful AI 'nudify' tools and shielding child predators by obstructing police investigations into Grok-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The suit details a case in which a stepfather used Grok to create 7,000 sexually explicit images from a single photo of his 11-year-old stepdaughter, then shot himself after police discovered the images.

Grok allowed extreme depictions of incest and rape without intervention until a 'gang rape' prompt triggered a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which alerted law enforcement. The lawsuit argues that xAI's safety systems are inadequate and failed to prevent the mass generation of CSAM.
