Lawsuit: Man Used Grok to Generate 7,000 Sexually Explicit Images of His Stepdaughter, Then Killed Himself

A proposed class action lawsuit against xAI and X was expanded Tuesday, alleging that the companies built toxic AI "nudify" tools and obstructed police investigations. The suit details a case where a stepfather used Grok to create 7,000 sexually explicit images of his stepdaughter from a single photo taken when she was 11.

After police discovered the images, the man shot himself. Grok only flagged harmful behavior after the man entered a prompt for "gang rape," which triggered a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
