Linus Torvalds to Linux AI Coding Critics: Fork It or Walk Away

Linus Torvalds has firmly backed the use of AI coding tools in Linux kernel development, stating that Linux is not an anti-AI project and that critics are free to fork the project or leave. His comments came during a mailing list debate over Sashiko, an AI-powered code review tool that claims to detect over half of bugs independently but also produces false positive reports at a rate of around 20%. Torvalds emphasized that he is willing to put his foot down in support of integrating such tools to improve the long-standing open-source project.
