A Connecticut judge uncovered what appears to be the first US case in which a plaintiff embedded hidden text in court filings for AI systems to read. The text was invisible to humans but legible to software, instructing any AI reviewing the case to side with the plaintiff.
Judge Walter Spader Jr. said the tactic had no impact on the ruling, but he called it a dangerous precedent as AI tools become more common in courts.
