Meta Ads Promote AI App That Targets Female Politicians with Deepfake Porn

Meta recently ran ads for Kromix, an AI-powered app that appears to encourage users to create nonconsensual deepfake porn featuring female US politicians, despite Meta's rules against sexual advertising. One ad showed a woman resembling a prominent politician winking before cutting to a pornographic scene with the same face, while the app's narration claimed it had “no restrictions.” Kromix, previously available on Apple's App Store, invited paid users to upload photos for explicit scenarios, including violent and sexual themes. This incident adds to Meta's history of failing to stop ads for tools that generate intimate imagery without consent.
