Meta Ads Promoted AI App That Generated Deepfake Porn of Female Politicians

Meta recently ran ads for Kromix, an AI tool that encouraged users to create deepfaked pornographic videos resembling female US politicians, despite Meta's policies against sexual content. The ads described the app as having 'no restrictions' and claimed 'all the characters are real people.' Before WIRED reached out for comment, Kromix was available on Apple's App Store and invited paying users to upload photos for explicit scenarios, including 'bedroom rape' and 'Disney love.' The app's contact did not respond to requests for comment.
