New Font Shields Webpages From AI Scrapers by Serving Them Nonsense

Two designers, Isaque Seneda and Gabriel Abrucio, have created ShieldFont, a font designed to protect webpages from AI scrapers. It uses ligatures to swap words in the underlying HTML for nonsense alternatives while displaying the original readable text to human visitors. The designers say it offers publishers a practical opt-out from unauthorized AI training and disrupts data collection when that choice is ignored.
