Notion, which acquired encrypted email startup Skiff in February 2024, launched Notion Mail in April 2025 as a Gmail client built largely by former Skiff employees. The company is now shutting down Notion Mail across web, desktop, and iOS on September 22, 2026.
In a post on X, Notion explained that most users no longer rely on traditional email clients and instead use AI agents to manage their correspondence. This move effectively ends the remnants of the Skiff email service.
