OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Work to Automate and Collaborate on Complex Tasks

OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Work, a tool designed to handle extended projects by staying with a task for hours if needed. Unlike its earlier Agent Mode, which stopped after a few minutes, the new system can automate entire workflows—such as moving from customer research to a campaign brief—while waiting for user approval on important actions. It also includes Scheduled Tasks, a feature that runs repetitive jobs on a schedule or in response to events, even when the user is away, with monitoring available via phone.
