OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work handles hours-long tasks with user approval

OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Work, a tool designed to automate complex projects for hours at a time, addressing a limitation of its earlier Agent Mode that stalled after a few minutes. The tool can execute entire workflows—such as going from customer research to a marketing campaign—but pauses for user approval on critical steps. It also integrates Scheduled Tasks, which run repetitive jobs on a schedule or when triggered, and can be monitored remotely via phone.
