OpenAI Unveils Its First Branded Hardware: A Color-Coded Mini-Keyboard for AI Monitoring

OpenAI has introduced its first branded hardware device, the Codex Micro, a $230 miniature keyboard created in a limited-run collaboration with Work Louder. The RGB-lit keyboard features six frosted keys that provide color-coded live feedback on the status of up to six Codex AI agents, indicating idle, thinking, task completion, need for human input, or errors. A quick tap on a lit key brings the corresponding Codex window into focus on screen, allowing users to monitor and interact with multiple threads at a glance.
