Oracle cuts 21,000 jobs to fund AI investments backed by debt

Oracle laid off 21,000 workers over the past year, reducing its full-time workforce from 162,000 to 141,000, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The company attributed the cuts to the adoption and deployment of AI technologies across its operations. The layoffs are part of Oracle's strategy to free up resources for debt-financed investments in artificial intelligence.
