Oracle Lays Off 21,000 Workers to Support Debt-Fueled AI Investments

Oracle reduced its workforce by 21,000 employees over the past year, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The company reported 141,000 full-time staff as of May 31, down from 162,000 the previous year, a 12.9% decline.

The filing stated that the adoption and deployment of AI technologies contributed to the cuts. The layoffs follow earlier reports of mass job reductions at the database software company.
