PEAK will reach PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, 2026. The co-op climbing game's console launch will connect new players with the existing Steam community through crossplay. The announcement appeared on October 15, with a separate physical PS5 release also confirmed.
One climbing group across different platforms
Landfall's FAQ confirms the three consoles and their connection to Steam players. Groups split between a gaming PC and a living-room console will therefore be able to climb together. Crossplay is particularly useful here because the main obstacle to a co-op evening can be assembling friends on compatible hardware, rather than choosing a game.
The PlayStation announcement says the PS5 edition supports a group of up to four and includes the content updates released since launch. Custom runs allow players to adjust the challenge, including some of the game's more mischievous interactions.
Why getting uphill becomes a team problem
In PEAK, surviving the mountain involves more than finding handholds. Landfall describes food, injuries and stamina as connected parts of the climb. Ropes and climbing spikes can help the players behind you; the map changes every 24 hours.
These systems turn a simple destination into shared logistics. An item used to save one player now might have helped the group later. Progress depends on the route and the condition of the people attempting it, rather than merely on whether someone knows which way to go.
The Steam version, released on June 16, 2025, lists proximity voice chat, online co-op and offline single-player. As of October 16, its recent-review rating is Very Positive. That describes existing PC feedback, not a review of the unreleased console ports.
A disc edition with a second copy
Distributor Maximum Entertainment France has announced a physical PS5 edition for December 9. It includes the disc, a download code to give a friend and a printed Scout passport with stickers. This is a later boxed release, separate from October's digital launch.
What happens after launch?
Landfall says major content additions have concluded, while bug fixes and maintenance will continue. The console editions arrive with an established adventure, rather than a promise of endless seasonal expansions.
Regional digital prices and console performance should be checked separately as final store information and tests become available. For now, the central change is clear: on October 22, PEAK's mountain is opening to friends on more platforms.
