November’s PlayStation Plus selection brings together action, classic adventures and card-based strategy. Rather than declaring one title the winner, it is more useful to ask what kind of evening you want: a session with friends, a patient exploration or a tactical experiment.
The announced lineup
Sony has announced the following Monthly Games selection for November 3–30, 2026:
Dead Island 2 — PS4, PS5
Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered — PS4, PS5
Monster Train 2 — PS5
This is the confirmed monthly selection, not a prediction. At the time of writing on October 31, its claim window has not started. PlayStation Blog announcement.
Dead Island 2: the group-night option
This first-person action RPG puts zombies in Los Angeles, with melee combat, weapon modifications and dark humour. It supports solo play or online co-op for up to three players; online play requires PS Plus. Official game page.
That description suggests a straightforward starting point: Dead Island 2 is the more obvious choice if you want to act rather than spend an evening studying card combinations. However, co-op does not automatically make a game suitable for every group. Discuss everyone’s comfort with graphic violence and check your friends’ console versions before planning a session.
There is also a practical hosting detail. The store listing says a player on a base PS4 can host only one joining player. A three-person session should therefore not be promised for every possible setup. PlayStation Store clarification.
Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered: an encounter with an earlier era
The collection contains The Last Revelation, Chronicles and The Angel of Darkness. Players can switch between original and remastered visuals; the store lists single-player and offline play. Collection page.
The developers also provide classic and modern controls, a photo mode and boss health bars. Aspyr’s PlayStation Blog introduction.
For newcomers, this is an opportunity to compare their expectations with an older approach to adventure games, rather than simply admire a refreshed Lara. Start by choosing a control scheme: an uncomfortable setup can overwhelm your impression of the game itself. Treat the graphics toggle as a way to examine the remaster’s work, not a test with one correct answer.
Monster Train 2: for players who enjoy thinking through the next move
Monster Train 2 combines deck building with defending a train’s three floors. Its systems include five new clans, plus Room and Equipment Cards that expand the possibilities for your train and units. It is a single-player strategy game. Official game page.
An action-game mistake is often immediately visible. In a card game, it can be more useful to trace a chain of decisions: what entered the deck, what was missing, and which idea failed to come together.
Try approaching this game that way. There is no need to find an “ideal build” before starting; discovering which decisions you enjoy making is a better first goal. This is an editorial reading of the genre, not a claim based on our own playtest.
October’s games: November 2 is the deadline
F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 can be added through Monday, November 2 under October’s selection. F1 25 and Hunt are listed for PS5, while World Brothers 2 supports PS4 and PS5. October announcement.
Do not confuse the last day to claim a game with the last day to finish it. Sony allows claimed monthly games to be downloaded and played later with an active subscription. Extra and Premium catalogs work differently: individual titles may leave the service. PS Plus explanation.
The practical priority is to check your October library first, then return for November’s selection. This article does not establish an exact switchover hour for your account. Follow your regional Store and avoid leaving a claim until the final minute.
Claiming games and understanding the subscription
Monthly Games are an Essential benefit also included in higher plans. Access to the separate Game Catalog requires Extra; the Classics Catalog requires Premium where offered. On PS4, claiming a monthly game includes Add to Library. On PS5, the relevant section is PlayStation Plus → Benefits → Monthly Games. Sony’s instructions, plans and conditions.
Canceling does not immediately end a period already paid for. However, access to monthly games is lost when the subscription expires. “At no additional cost” is therefore not the same as an unconditional permanent purchase. Cancellation support.
Before confirming, check four things: the account, platform, selected edition and absence of an unexpected price. Do not assume DLC is included simply because the base game appears in the lineup. The subscription renews with automatic charges until canceled. Content and availability vary by region, age and plan; check current pricing in your own Store. PS Plus terms.
The useful takeaway is not that you must finish everything. It is that you can secure the selection within its claim window and choose one game for a particular free evening. Variety matters most when it leads to a deliberate choice, not merely three more unread entries in a growing library.
