Ridley Scott’s ‘The Dog Stars’: A Post-Apocalyptic American Dream

In Ridley Scott’s new post-apocalyptic film The Dog Stars, misanthropic former marine Bangley (Josh Brolin) tells his partner Hig (Jacob Elordi) that they are basically living the American dream. They have everything they need on the airstrip where they live, even though a virus has wiped out most of humanity and they must regularly shoot desperate invaders. Bangley warns Hig against wanting anything more.
