ShieldFont: A New Font That Feeds AI Scrapers Nonsense While Keeping Pages Readable for Humans

AI companies' widespread scraping of public web content for training data has prompted lawsuits and technical countermeasures. Now designers Isaque Seneda and Gabriel Abrucio have created ShieldFont, a font that uses ligatures to swap words in the underlying HTML for nonsense while displaying the original text to human readers. The goal is to give publishers a practical opt-out from unauthorized AI training and disrupt what scrapers collect.
