South Korea’s government and leading tech companies are committing $1 trillion to megaprojects aimed at boosting global memory chip supply, building AI data centers, and commercializing humanoid robots by 2028. The initiative follows record profits at Samsung and SK Hynix driven by AI demand, which has also caused memory chip shortages and higher consumer electronics prices.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Company is racing to mass-produce humanoid robots from its subsidiary Boston Dynamics for automotive factories and other workplaces. President Lee Jae Myung emphasized semiconductors, physical AI, and AI data centers as the triple axis for national advancement.
