SpaceX has announced the acquisition of AI coding tool Cursor for $60 billion in an all-stock transaction, expected to close in the third quarter. The deal comes two days after SpaceX's IPO and follows its merger with xAI, which led to a significant restructuring of xAI. Cursor, a branch of Visual Studio Code with deep AI integration, was an early tool to leverage large language models in an IDE, though larger competitors now offer similar features.
