SpaceX has announced it will acquire AI coding platform Cursor for $60 billion in an all-stock transaction, with the deal expected to close in the third quarter. The acquisition comes just two days after SpaceX's unprecedented IPO and several months after its merger with AI company xAI. Cursor, a branch of Visual Studio Code, was an early leader in integrating large language models into an IDE, but larger competitors have since introduced comparable features.
