Stateless MCP Update Aims to Overcome Enterprise Scalability Hurdles

The Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open-source standard for connecting AI systems to external tools and data, received its largest update since launch. The protocol core is now stateless, meaning requests no longer depend on a session tied to a specific server instance.

This change is expected to remove long-standing barriers to scalability. The specification was announced by lead maintainers David Soria Parra and Den Delimarsky of Anthropic.
