Suno announced plans to add watermarks to all audio generated by its AI models, a move the company says aligns with emerging industry standards for labeling AI content. CEO Mikey Shulman outlined the changes in a blog post, noting that platforms will be able to use the watermarks to mark or block AI-generated tracks.
The company did not specify whether it will use its own solution or adopt Google's SynthID, which has already been used to label years of audio and billions of images and videos. The policy shift comes as streaming services like Spotify face increasing amounts of AI-generated music.
