The Trump administration is seeking to halt a Clean Air Act lawsuit filed by the NAACP against Elon Musk's xAI Corp., arguing that the suit threatens a data center that powers the Grok chatbot used by the military. The NAACP sued xAI and its subsidiary MZX Tech in April, alleging they operated 27 gas turbines without an air permit in Southaven, Mississippi, a number that grew to 57 by mid-May with plans for two more. The turbines power xAI's Colossus 2 data center, which runs the Grok system, and have sparked health concerns and noise complaints from nearby residents.
